The things you think that make you happy and the ones that really do.
1. What just happened?!
This episode was about a personal growth: where you thought you were going to be, where you are right now and where you want to go, to get the picture perfect life that you dreamed of (or finding out that the picture isn’t right anymore). The latter applies to Zoe, who tries to impress a journalist who interviewed Zoe’s old classmates about their work for Doctors without Borders. On the other hand Lemon is trying to beat George at dating and goes out with AnnaBeth to find a new relationship (Lemon’s logic). Wade is still denying that he has feelings for Zoe, but his dad rats him out and Lavon tries to deal with Ruby’s plans to run for mayor.
2. What was the most memorable quote or dialog this episode?
The winner is Wade’s wisdom. His speech showed that there is more to him than meets the eye. Here is a part of it: “And clearly something about every one of those choices makes you happy. The problem is, they don’t match up with the picture you have in your head about what your life should be […] You want to be happy, Doc? Change your picture or change your life.”
3. Cuteness vs. Useless
+ Lavon thinking that the “A” Zoe wrote on the calendar was about PMS. Zoe’s response was great: “Why would that get an “A”?” (right back at you!)
+ AnnaBeth is back! I really like her character and it is great that the writers put Lemon and AnnaBeth together as newly singles.
+ The part with Crazy Earl was adorable (“You brought your girlfriend with you.”) I also liked Zoe teasing Wade about it.
+ I actually had a hard time to think of a reason why Lavon should stay the mayor, but after the scene with George and Brick it made sense. Lavon knows the people and is there for them every step of the way.
+ Lemon is back on her course to become strong and independent. Extra points for making Ruby leaving town her new mission.
+ Zoe and Wade, Wade and Zoe: it’s happening! That last scene was so cute. I’m glad Zoe decided to take a step forward (with Wade or George). Also I can’t wait till it gets really official and George finds out. I’m sure that the writers are going to make that a funny bit (like that one in the kitchen). By the way did anyone thought of Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games” during that last scene?
+/- I wonder why Lavon and Lemon’s relationship never came out, because nothing stays a secret in BlueBell. Although I like that Lavon and Lemon are teaming up again. He always brings out the best in Lemon.
– Clearly George lost his taste in women after the break-up (they used to be smart and strong). Get back on track, golden boy.
– Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the actress, but I’m so not a fan of Ruby. I think she only has a vision for BlueBell when it comes to tourists and I don’t think she got it in her to handle all the small things from the town’s people.
4. Rate it! (on a scale from 0 to 10)
Another solid episode, with a fun girls night out and some character development. It’s an 8.
