Must listen: 3 songs for a rainy autumn day

The albums of Kodaline, David Gray and The Cinematic Orchestra

Three music tips for a rainy autumn day.

#1 Kodaline – All I Want

Where could you know Kodaline from?
You can’t find a lot of info about this band on the internet. But if you like Coldplay (the early days) and the emotional songs of Mumford and Sons, you will like this band too! I think this song will be featured on a tv show very soon. Just think of a scene like Damon and Elena – although it turned out to be Katherine – kissing on the porch when Bloodstream by Stateless was playing (The Vampire Diaries 1×22). It’s got the same kind of epicness!

Favorite part of the lyrics
Our love was made for movie screens

You can find All I Want by Kodaline on iTunes and Spotify.

#2 David Gray – This Years Love

Where could you know David Gray from?
David Gray is best know for his song Babylon. The song This Years Love is actually an oldie too. You might even heard it on the soundtrack of the movie The Girl Next Door with Emile Hirsch and Elisha Cuthbert. But it is always nice to rediscover a beautiful song in your music library!

Favorite part of the lyrics
Before I open up my arms and fall
Losin’ all control
Every dream inside my soul
[…]
This years love, it better last

You can find This Years Love by David Gray on iTunes and Spotify.

#3 The Cinematic Orchestra featuring Patrick Watson – To Build A Home

Where could you know The Cinematic Orchestra and Patrick Watson from?
Maybe the name of The Cinematic Orchestra doesn’t ring a bell, but Patrick Watson might! He makes magical music which haunts you in a good way. Their collaboration on this song is just fantastic! If you have seen Step Up 4 this summer, you will immediately think of the final dance of the two main characters Emily and Sean played by Kathryn McCormick and Ryan Guzman.

Favorite part of the lyrics
Out in the garden where we planted the seeds
There is a tree as old as me
Branches were sewn by the color of green
Ground had arose and passed it’s knees

By the cracks of the skin I climbed to the top
I climbed the tree to see the world
When the gusts came around to blow me down
I held on as tightly as you held onto me

You can find To Build A Home by The Cinematic Orchestra featuring Patrick Watson on iTunes and Spotify.
