Girls and boys, ‘tis the season to be jolly! Pretty much all tv shows are on their holiday break. (Raise hands, who’s experiencing withdrawal symptoms??) “That’s real nice, tv making people… JUST when our Christmas vacation begun and we’ve got TONS of time!” So thank goodies for some Christmas spirited oldies that we don’t have to miss out completely. All together now: “Yay for reruns!” Here’s what you can watch in your pajamas by the Christmas tree, right in between family dinners and opening presents.
The O.C. 1×13 The Best Chrismukkah Ever
In 2004 the world was introduced to the wonderful holiday called Chrismukkah. It’s a combination of Christmas and Hanukkah – which basically meant eight days of presents, followed by one day of many presents – created by mastermind Seth Cohen. In later seasons this holiday got its own anthem, an occasional Chrismukkah miracle and a Bar Mitz-vahkkah. But the first one is still the best Chrismukkah episode on the show. Maybe that’s because Anna and Summer were fighting over Seth, by making him his personal comic book and dressing up as Wonder Woman.
Friends 7×10 The One with the Holiday Armadillo
You better watch out, you better not cry. Santa, Superman and the Holiday Armadillo are coming to town (has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?). Almost every season our six favorite friends celebrated the holidays in their own hilarious way. The one in the seventh is one of our favs, where Ross finds out that he has Ben at home for the holidays and decides to learn him more about Hanukkah.
It’s so hard to choose between awesome Friends moments! Just because we don’t want you to miss out on Phoebe’s Christmas song from three seasons earlier, we’re gonna share it anyway:
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air 1×15 Deck The Halls
Who doesn’t ‘Carlton dance’ on Jingle Bell Rock while decorating the tree?? Wait, what? Lots of people? Nevermind.
Other christmas episodes we recommend are from The Nanny, Happy Days, Full House, Growing Pains, Home Improvement, Step by Step and Saved by the Bell (Hint: YouTube! Also, don’t you just love the 90s?)
