And we are back… with an old school Revenge episode!
1. What just happened?!
Was it just me or did we just saw a classic Revenge episode, which focused on taking down a person who wasn’t so nice to David Clarke during his trial?! The episode started with Emily and Aiden working on their fighting skills in the darkness. Because it’s always fun to beat your boyfriend at sports.
Okay, now what seriously went down on this week episode: Victoria reached out to Emily to connect with Daniel again. Emily fake ups with Aiden in the same restaurant where Daniel is trying to get information from his dad, because the Initiative told him to look for it. Daniel can’t wait to swoop in, but Emily is giving him the cold shoulder until dinner at the Grayson manor. Our heartthrob of the year (according to co-blogger Chantal) needs to work for it too! Luckily for Emily she also meets the judge and his wife who are at the top of her Revenge list. Turns out not the clerk, but the judge’s wife wrote the letter about her dad’s innocence. Plus the judge abusives his wife to keep her from saying anything about the David Clarke trial. With the help of Emily she speaks up at the benefit for her Project Liberty (get that red pencil ready girl, you can draw another cross on a villain’s picture!).
In the meantime Jack and Declan discover the drug trafficking of the Ryan brothers in their bar and they try to bust them. But everything goes wrong when the drugs have been moved to the Amanda and Jack takes the blame for everything. He ends up in jail calling Faux-manda who he sent to Emily’s earlier with baby Carl. It was quite sad actually to see their family getting ripped apart. Also Marco tries to win Nolan back and says something about computer coding and being on his side (sorry I don’t speak nerd, so I don’t know if he said something legit). Daniel asks Emily for help with some philanthropic work for Grayson Global – which is code for I want you back – and when Emily realizes they have an audience (Victoria at her favorite spot on the balcony) she kisses him. Poor Aiden, who is watching them from Emily’s living room. To be continued!
2. What was the most memorable quote or dialog this episode?
Nolan’s funny names for Aiden: London Fog and Remington Steele. Plus his line to Aiden about Daniel wanting to swoop in to win over Emily again: “Well, bros before hos only works if he’s not still in love with the ho, bro.”
3. Cuteness vs. Useless
+ Glad the old format of Revenge was back this episode. Plus the storyline of the judge abusing his wife and she speaking up to him in the end was intriguing.
+ Nolan stole the show again with his one-liners. Glad to have him back.
+ Aiden being jealous and cautious when it comes to Daniel. He should be. The lines are very thin for Emily if she gets close to succeeding at her mission.
+ Did we see Victoria smile?! OMG! On a serious note: this means she is playing something devious. Yay!
+ Charlotte’s high school ways of distracting Nate Ryan. It was funny because it was super obvious.
+/- I think that Kenny is having some doubts when it comes to avenging their father, because he looked sincere in that last scene with Declan. Nate Ryan is just ruthless.
– Jack trying to bust the Ryan brothers. Everyone saw this twist coming, right?! This storyline is scoring way too high on the yawn factor these days.
– Aiden meeting with the Initiative and keeping that – and the fact that his sister is still alive – to himself. I’m sure this is going to be the next annoying storyline after the Amanda sinks (which is going to make the Ryan brothers evaporate, because it’s almost time that daddy Teen Wolf starts shooting his Teen Wolf scenes and he can’t be in two places at once).
4. Rate it! (on a scale from 0 to 10)
I wasn’t blown away, but it was a decent episode: 7,5.
