The Carrie Diaries 1×06: Endgame
Happy Turkey day! The writers of The Carrie Diaries decided that no matter what time of year it actually is in 2013, the characters are going to celebrate the usual holidays in the eighties. I made my peace with it, so I’m going to be disappointed if we don’t get a Christmas and NYE episode soon.
Because Thanksgiving was her mother’s favorite holiday Carrie is dead set on recreating her mother’s dish. Although Mouse should actually get the credits (who apparently had her family duties in the morning), because Carrie tries really hard to not be suburban around her new boyfriend George. Dorrit is going to a fase again, but has a legitimate reason for once (you can guess what it is… hi to the dead mom card again). In the meantime Maggie is confronted about her future, when Walt’s parents push him to go to Dartmouth and ask her about her plans.
In the end Carrie loses it when her father blames her for setting the turkey on fire. He forgot he was actually the caretaker in this family and shouldn’t have been sitting on the couch all day. Probably because her father feels a little guilty, he even lifts the anti-Kydd policy when Sebastian shows up at Carrie’s door after the Silvers have left. Sebastian talks about changing the past… oh oh he is clearly not over her yet. – 7
This week’s favorite quote
George: “Time to resume the official George Silver Central Park tour.”
Carrie: “I’m not ready for him to see suburban Carrie yet.”
Carrie: “Choices get made and things happen because of them.”
