New Girl 2×16: Let’s do the panic moonwalk

New Girl 2×16: Table 34
It’s the aftermath of the epic kiss between Nick and Jess, and they both are freaking out. In Nick’s case it means he panic moonwalks away when Jess enters the room. Jess blows steam off at Cece’s, who suggest to accompany her to an Indian marriage convention. This would have been a terrific idea if Schmidt hadn’t planned to attend the same event and Nick hadn’t used it as an excuse to avoid the loft. So the whole gang (including Schmidt and Nick wearing a turban) plus Sam ends up at the same event.

Of course this is a recipe for disaster, but for Cece it gets even worse. This should have been her day, but she gets dumped at table 34 because the organizers think being a model isn’t a career. While Winston tries to control his new found mojo (he wins the price for most ridiculous and useless storyline without trying again) Schmidt tries to win Cece back. But when he doesn’t succeed, he makes the ultimate sacrifice when he sees that Cece is being ignored by the other attendees. His speech was kind of nice, plus it had a hilarious Schmidt ending. Before I talk more about Nick and Jess, let’s discuss Schmidt and Cece’s hook up at the end of the episode! Like wow, I didn’t expect that to happen. It’s sucks Cece is dead set on finding an Indian husband, when Schmidt is actually her soulmate. It might be hard to believe, but you will see it when you forget about Schmidt’s ridiculous actions for a second.

At the event Nick and Jess fight about the fact if their kiss actually meant something. They even create a super strong table out of newspapers and tape while they are bickering. Which should be the ultimate sign that they would be a strong couple by the way… Of course it wouldn’t take long before Sam finds out about it. He immediately breaks up with Jess, who decides to spend the rest of the evening blasting Taylor Swift in the loft (RED is a cool album, if you haven’t checked it out yet). In the end the two friends make up with an awkward hug, after an epic silly dance of Nick. – 8,5

This week’s favorite quote
Jess: “I was like Scarlett O’Hara in my freaking curtain dress… He just, like, grabbed me. And he just took me. I mean, he was a man and I was a woman. It was firm, but tender. Yeah, I mean, I saw thorough space and time for a minute, but that’s not the point.”
Cece: “I literally haven’t said a word for, like, over an hour.”
Nick: “It was like a damn fairy tale, that kiss! It was the best kiss of your life.”
Jess: “Sam’s the kind of guy who fixes things that you didn’t even know were broken. And Nick is the type of guy who breaks things… that are… He breaks things!”
Nick: “Pink robes are my catnip.”
Jess to Sam about Nick: “He’s in such terrible shape! You could’ve killed him.”
Nick: “Is there another doctor in the house?! With this crowd, I’m sure.”
Schmidt: “You know, when I came here today, I thought India was a pretty cool country. You guys are obviously smart. You l-looked at the roof of a bus and you said: ‘That’s not just a roof, that’s more seating.’ Kal Penn, he’s a genius. Thank you for him. But what I didn’t know is that you’re a country full of blind idiots. Because in your midst walks a brown angel. That woman. Right there. I may be an idiot, but I’m smart enough to know what I lost. You people could’ve had it all. And you shoved her over there at a table with Nick. Get your crap together, India. Schmidt… out!”
