With new shows come new opinions. With old shows too, by the way. For instance, what did we think of Super Fun Night’s pilot? Total fav or total flaw?
ATC’s Hall of Faves
In sports you get an MVP award, on All That Cubeness you get a place in our Hall of Faves. The “hall” where we like to showcase all the big and small things that we found pleasing to the eye. And we mean pleasing to the eye as a figure of speech, cause there’s more to the world than shirtless actors. (Yes there really is, we were suprised too.)
Connie Britton might have gotten an Emmy nomination for her performance last season, but Hayden deserves one for this season. Last week was yet another example of how much Hayden has to offer on screen. She showed some sincere emotion when Juliette visited her old trailer. Plus she really knows her way around a one-liner. I also adore the friendship between Juliette and Avery, which Juliette seemed a bit surprised by, because basically she is such a bitch. But Hayden was able to turn the character who everyone loved to hate, in a character who is entertaining to watch and you might even feel bad for from time to time. Let’s hope she can keep up the great work this season! – M
A few episodes in and I’m hooked. Such an intense show that keeps you on the edge of your seat and already has had some interesting twists and turns. I mean, what’s UP with the husband?! And that apple dude?! James Spader as “Red” Reddington is a delight. I really like his intense-ish, mysterious and occassionally funny character. In short, you could say I recommend this one. – C
ATC’s Hall of Flaws
Unfortunately, not everything is praiseworthy. And yes, flaws make perfection, that’s true. And yes, we often love our shows for both the good and the bad. But some things just need some work, big time! Below are some of our pointers for the writers to get everything back on track. We’d love to hear if you agree or disagree, so feel free to leave a comment.
It’s such a bummer. I had really high hopes for Rebel Wilson’s television show. Pitch Perfect was one of my favorite movies last year and she has surrounded herself with a decent cast on Super Fun Night. But it just wasn’t funny. I didn’t even laugh or giggle once. Some people expected this outcome, because the network already decided to skip airing the original pilot and kicked off with the second episode as the first broadcast. Too bad for the cast. I wonder how long it will take before the show gets pulled off the schedule. Although there is always a chance for a small television miracle… – M
I guess Charlotte’s pregnancy was too much work after all? Too difficult maybe? Too irrelevant? Here we were, ending last season with Declan’s death right after the news he would become a father. So painfully sad it was. Yes, was. Oh well, I guess no baby has to grow up without its father after all because before we knew it Charlotte came back from Paris casually dropping the news she lost the baby as well. (Hey, where did that pregnancy go? Woosh, sweeped under the carpet.) I would guess losing your unborn child would call for some emotions… of any sort. Or did I miss something? – C
